"Everything was beautiful and nothing hurt."

- p. 122 | Slaughterhouse-Five | Kurt Vonnegut

i didn't know what this quote was supposed to mean when i came across it. then i just realized now that, since slaughterhouse-five is about moments and memories, this must have something to do with moments and memories. so this led me to my own understanding of the quote...

"in this unpredictable world, you have to carry around at least 1 canned memory of something beautiful. you'll need it one way or another...especially when there's no more something beautiful to feel or see or taste or hear or smell or...feel."

and most often than not, beautiful memories happened when we were once children...so to all children out there, enjoy childhood because you will never have another one. =))

the "light-bulb moment" actually happened while looking for this KV quote. -> "Here is a lesson in creative writing. 1st rule: Do not use semicolons. They are transvestite hermaphrodites representing absolutely nothing. All they do is show you've been to college." - A Man Without A Country

my pseudoquote was also a little inspired by that quote from Chungking Express | WKW
